Nebolish Mastiff

The Nebolish Mastiff breed profile is sponsored by www.PetWearUSA.com visit PetWear to custom design your Mastiff's next designer dog collar, leash or more and then let PetWear hand make it and then ship for free!

The goal of developing the Nebolish Mastiff must be admired.  An effort to re-create the multi-talented farm dogs of the past, dogs that were the predescessors of our current Rottweiler, Pit Bull, BullDog, Mastiff, Bullmastiff and many other beloved breeds.  Unfortunately, it would be virtually impossible for anyone to be confident that they were indeed obtaining a dog so carefully bred and produced since the Nebolish currently lacks a parent club (to define the direction and standard of the breed much less recognize health issues, create a code of conduct and establish a rescue), and so, it is not recognized by any registry.  Thus, anyone can claim any dog is a Nebolish Mastiff and no one can dispute the point since there is no paper trail to prove or disprove the authenticity of the claim.  With this said, interest in Nebolish Mastiffs may increase and one can only hope that it will not be at the hands of those interested in establishing a fad in order to get rich from it.  Without the governing bodies of parent clubs and registries it is impossible to know if you are dealing with a puppy mill (someone breeding exclusively for money) or not.

Socialization requirements: moderate if only to help them prepare for their job in the future, without careful nurturing while young they may mistake friend for foe
Ideal home characteristics: One with work for the dog including companion on trips to town, supervision of livestock, reviewing fields and fencing, etc. One that will encourage the dog to be part of the family inside and outside.
Temperament Notes: Alert, amiable, stays close to family, strong work ethic, intelligent, dignified, powerful, not a combination for the inexperienced dog owner
Training requirement: moderate including basic manners, socializing and guidance into their responsibilities
Trainer notes: The Nebolish Mastiff is (like most) fare easier to work with while young.  Once the dog has achieved 150+ pounds is not the time to think that you can cajole or force it into anything.  Giving the dog an exceptional start with a happy puppyhood and careful influencing of good manners from the start (like not jumping on people and not checking the countertops for food) will go a long way towards making this dog a great lifetime companion.
