Black Forest Hound (also called Slovakian Hound)

The Black Forest Hound breed profile is sponsored by www.PetWearUSA.com visit PetWear to custom design your Balck Forest Hound's next designer dog collar, leash or more and then let PetWear hand make it and then ship for free!

On first glance, the Black Forest Hound (also Slovensky Kopov or Slovakian Hound) of Slovakia seems very similar to the Black and Tan Coonhound of the US but more careful examination indicates that this smaller, heavier built Scenthound's greatest similarity with the Coonhound is by their black and tan markings.  Most common in Europe where it originated, the temperament, energy and working ability of the Black Forest Hound is very similar to that of the better known (at least in the US) Beagle, Harrier, Foxhound and others.
